Even before U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn entered the race for Tennessee’s Republican gubernatorial nomination, connected political observers said it was her race to lose.
In the past two and a half weeks, after a series of embarrassing missteps, some have started to whisper it looks like Blackburn is trying to do just that.
“It’s still hers to lose, but the last two weeks have been the kind of thing that can create momentum for a candidate. And once you get momentum, it’s hard to turn that around,” said veteran Republican commentator Steve Gill, publisher of the conservative news site Tristardaily.com
