Talarico News Shows How Broken Our Society Has Now Become

Op-Ed by Clayton Wood, Contributing Columnist

Texas Democratic Senate nominee Talarico missed a lot of time during a crucial period for his Senate campaign. 12 days off the trail. Where was he? Lots of rumors and people saying, “if this comes out, his campaign is over.”

Now if you are asking me if I am rather disgusted with the process that thinks the great state of Texas could only find a pathetic Senator who refused to pass the SAVE act, or a replacement who pretends to be a Christian while committing adultery for the GOP, my answer is yes.

Yet I would take a random pick from the phone book over a person whose policies are as disastrous and wicked as Talarico’s.

Over the weekend we got the accusation that Talarico has been in a mental hospital and the denial by the hospital that he had been there.

I do not know if he just cannot work with the flu, or if there is something else. I also think the “this will end him” people do not realize that my favorite Democrat right now is Fetterman, who seems post stroke and post checking himself into a mental hospital to be the sanest Democrat in the Senate.

Talarico is disqualified by his policy, not his personal life. That is where we should focus.

I have watched people destroy friendships, destroy businesses, betray trust, and willingly follow the leadership of mentally ill people again and again. The lunatics in America genuinely run the asylum. In an age where we are told to praise the clothes of the emperor, the people who actually see the clothes in their broken delusions are not insightful and special. They are pitiable, and they deserve our compassion.

Talarico went two weeks without an in-person campaign event. Lots of disputes about where he has been. What is not in dispute is his record. In 2023, Talarico voted against SB 14, which banned gender-affirming medical interventions for children, and he called that care “important healthcare” and “life-saving health care.”

For most of my adult life, nearly everyone, of every party, knew exactly what to call someone who supported cutting off the genitals of physically healthy children struggling with mental illness. You would call that person wicked and dangerous, or mentally ill and dangerous. There is no new category we need to reach for today.

Then he ran statewide in Texas. This year he said, “I oppose gender-reassignment surgeries for minors,” and told Fox News he would “absolutely” support a national ban on them. He knew his old position was a bridge too far in Texas, so he changed it.

His own church seems to doubt the change. A minister at his Austin church was recorded on hidden camera predicting, “once he gets elected, he’ll change his tune back to where he was.” HRC’s president says Talarico told donors in Houston that his Fox comments were clipped and that politicians should stay out of doctors’ decisions. One message for Texans and another for donors is not a change of heart.

Talarico is not fit to lead. He supports killing babies and supported mutilating children and voted that way. I do not believe his current reversal, and neither does his friend Babs the fake pastor. You can see her video in the comments.

Think about how far our nation has fallen that a guy with these policy positions on record, these quotes where he espouses freakish heresy, is raising tens of millions of dollars and being held up as the right way forward. In a time of moral inversion, everyone who thinks they are “compassionate” for supporting a man whose policies would lead to more death, to more crime, to more rapes at the border, to more child trafficking, is not compassionate at all, they are supporting wickedness.

I do not need to know where Talarico has been the last two weeks to know where he wants to take us. I know enough to lament that people with insane positions are now calling evil good and good evil and are being praised by people who demand we join their mass delusion. I refuse.
