The woke DSA crowd is seemingly looking to get a foothold in Tennessee. The radical socialist Democrats that have destroyed places like New York City have either gravitated to Tennessee or have simply fully embraced the failed policies of the Left and seek to impose them on the Volunteer State. Another recent example came from Knoxville, where the Democrat candidate for Knox County Mayor was exposed as a fan of former Venezuelan Dictator, and indicted cartel leader, Nicholas Maduro.
Beau Hawk (that’s really his name) was the Democratic nominee for Knox County mayor in the August election, that he lost to Republican Betsy Henderson. Hawk was unopposed in the Democrat primary.
Hawk, a union leader, had marched in Caracas in support of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in 2020, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
During his socialist promotional tour Hawk posed for photographs with other demonstrators and was quoted in an article by the Venezuelan Orinoco Tribune, an outlet that “aims to offer a counter-narrative to mainstream media and promote alternative voices and perspectives on the region, while challenging dominant narratives about Venezuela with an anti-imperialist perspective.”
“I saw thousands of working people celebrating their revolution. From now on, when I hear Trump’s lies about the Bolivarian Revolution, I will always remember the people in the march smiling, holding up the Bolivarian flag, and fighting to defend their revolution,”
Hawk, was quoted as saying while posing with anti-Trump signs and the revolutionary Bolivarian flag.
Now Hawk is back and planning to run for CITY Mayor in Knoxville next year.
Hawk is one of several candidates who could replace current liberal Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon who was first elected in 2019. Knoxville Mayors are limited to serving two four-year terms, so she is scheduled to leave office in 2027. The primary election is scheduled for August 31, 2027 with election day on November 2.
Has Knoxville really become so woke that Hawk can win? He fared better than expected in the county mayor race, and the city is much more blue than the county as a whole so don’t count him out! But can Knoxville survive a southern version of Mamdani!?!?
