Nashville Zoo-Area Property Officially Purchased by Atlanta-Based Data Center Company

Data centers have become one of the most controversial trends across the nation, and two new ones will be built next to the Nashville Zoo. A report from the Nashville Business Journal confirmed that Atlanta-based DC Blox purchased the property where the facilities will be constructed.

The first phase will likely include a 69,000-square-foot data center after the removal of a one-story brick building and a three-story brick-and-glass building. The property was previously owned by Nashville developer MarketStreet Enterprises and sits near the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, which lists its main address at 3777 Nolensville Pike. Earlier this month, Mayor Freddie O’Connell filed eminent domain legislation aimed at acquiring the Grassmere property and preventing DC Blox from moving forward with the project. The completed sale removes the site’s longtime owner from the dispute and underscores DC Blox’s determination to proceed despite significant community opposition.
