The Tennessee Republican Party has announced that U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2026 Statesmen’s Dinner, one of the premier Republican political gatherings in the nation.
The annual event will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. This year’s dinner will be held in the Karl Dean Ballroom on the fourth floor, marking a venue change from previous years. Receptions begin at 5:00 p.m., with dinner and the evening program starting at 6:00 p.m.

Known nationally for his sharp wit, Southern storytelling, and unapologetically conservative style, Kennedy has become one of the most recognizable voices in Washington. Since his election to the U.S. Senate in 2016, the Louisiana Republican has gained a reputation for delivering memorable one-liners while championing limited government, fiscal responsibility, and constitutional principles.
The Tennessee Republican Party’s Statesmen’s Dinner has been a longstanding tradition for more than 50 years and is considered the largest state Republican Party dinner in the country, routinely drawing well over 1,000 attendees from across Tennessee and beyond.
Over the decades, the event has hosted an impressive lineup of political leaders, including vice presidents, governors, cabinet officials, senators, and future presidents. The dinner also serves as a major fundraiser and celebration of Republican leadership and grassroots activism throughout the Volunteer State.
This year’s theme, “Our Sacred Honor,” commemorates America’s semiquincentennial and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Organizers say the theme reflects the courage and sacrifice of the nation’s founding generation and serves as a reminder of the enduring principles that shaped the United States.
The theme references the closing words of the Declaration of Independence:
“With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
In addition to Senator Kennedy’s keynote address, the evening will continue the tradition of recognizing outstanding Republicans from across the state through the Statesman of the Year Award program.
First introduced in 1994, the award honors individuals and couples from each congressional district who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the Republican Party. Since the program’s inception, more than 300 Tennessee Republicans have received the distinction. Nine new recipients will be honored during the 2026 dinner.
The Tennessee GOP will also present its Legislator of the Year Award, an honor established in 2024 to commemorate thirty years of Republican majority leadership in Tennessee. The award alternates annually between a state representative and a state senator and recognizes lawmakers who exemplify strong public service and adherence to Republican principles.
With the combination of a nationally recognized keynote speaker, historic patriotic theme, and statewide recognition of party leadership, organizers expect the 2026 Statesmen’s Dinner to once again be one of the most significant political events of the year in Tennessee.
