Conservative John Rose, a successful businessman and current 6th District Congressman, has launched his third commercial in a series of ads for his campaign to be Tennessee’s next Governor. The new statewide spot, titled Protect Our Culture, slams state government for giving $30-million to the Starbucks Coffee Company to relocate its headquarters from Seattle, Washington, to Nashville. A multi-million dollar incentive package was recently approved by the state to bring Starbucks to Nashville.
Rose has questioned the use of taxpayer money being used to attract companies that do not share the majority of Tennesseans’ values. Rose says Starbucks does not represent those values, and as Governor, he will fight to protect the state’s culture.
Transcript of Protect Our Culture:
John Rose: Everyone is moving to Tennessee, even corporate headquarters like Starbucks.
We can’t let them change our state. Starbucks pushed DEI and weird transgender stuff.
Now they want $30-million in taxpayer dollars from us!
No thanks.
I’m John Rose. Like Trump, I’m a CEO. I make tough calls. As Governor, I’ll protect our culture.
If you come to Tennessee, you’ve got to become Tennessee.

Rose is seeking the GOP nomination for Governor in the August 6 primary.
