Club for Growth Ad Hits ‘Radical’ Aftyn Behn in 7th District Special Election

Club For Growth (CFG) is airing a new attack ad against Democrat Aftyn Behn in the Tennessee 7th Congressional District election for Congress. Branding Behn as “radical” in the final days of early voting, CFG hopes to push Republican Matt Van Epps across the finish line. Election Day is Dec. 2.

The commercial hits the self-described “radical” Behn over comments supporting rioters and a recent self-recorded video of Behn bragging about harassing ICE Officers and Tennessee State Troopers. The ad is part of a $300,000 investment from Club for Growth Action, the CFG PAC, into the race, and has aired during live sports games, including the Tennessee versus Florida football game, streaming platforms, and on addressable satellite across the district. Club for Growth PAC’s affiliated School Freedom Fund invested nearly $1 million ahead of the October 7th special primary election, securing Matt Van Epps’ nomination. Club for Growth PAC and President Donald J. Trump have both endorsed Van Epps in the race.

TRANSCRIPT OF AD:
NARRATOR: Aftyn Behn says:
BEHN: I’m a very radical person.
NARRATOR: So radical, Behn thinks:
BEHN: Rioting is a way for people to express themselves.
NARRATOR: Worse, Behn went on a midnight joyride, harassing ICE Officers and State Troopers.
BEHN: This is great! We’ve got our girl squad, and we’re bullying the ICE vehicles and State Troopers.
NARRATOR: Unhinged.
BEHN: And it’s really f*cking scary.
NARRATOR: Stop Aftyn Behn. So radical, it’s scary.
