Woman Charged With Threatening To Kill Senator Blackburn

A 22-year-old Murfreesboro woman allegedly left a message on Senator Marsha Blackburn’s voicemail in May, stating that she was going to shoot her on “national TV.”

The U.S Attorney’s Office in Middle Tennessee announced the arrest of the young woman who allegedly threatened to kill Blackburn.

The release states that 22-year-old Penelope Convertino left a voice message at Sen. Blackburn’s office in Nashville on May 30, 2025.

In the message, Convertino stated:

“My name is mother**ker and I’m gonna kill Marsha Blackburn. I’m gonna shoot her with a gun. I’m gonna blow up her head on national TV. She will literally have brains splattered behind her because she will not be a person. She will be a dead f**king body.”

An indictment filed Aug. 20 and unsealed upon Convertino’s arrest said FBI agents tracked the voicemail back to her by the phone number. The number used to make the call was registered to a “close family member” of Convertino, the indictment said.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Convertino early Thursday. Blackburn appeared on the national televised Fox and Friends show at Edley’s barbecue in Goodlettsville early Thursday morning.

“Our public officials should be able to do their jobs without receiving vile death threats,” said Acting United States Attorney Robert E. McGuire. “Threatening public officials with deadly violence cannot and will not be tolerated. We will not hesitate to hold those who make these kinds of violent threats accountable for their crimes.”

Convertino is charged with making a threat to murder a federal official and faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison if convicted. The FBI is investigating the incident, and U.S. Attorney McGuire will be prosecuting the case.
