Princeton Review Ranks University of the South in Sewanee One of the Prettiest College Campuses in the U.S.

The Princeton Review’s annual list of college rankings is out, and topping the list of the 25 most beautiful college campuses in the country is The University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee.

The unique mountaintop location in the Southeast corner of the state allows the University to utilize “our beautiful campus not only as a classroom but also as a tool for learning itself, “one student wrote. The predominantly undergraduate school of 1,644 full-time students is picturesque, particularly in the Fall when the bright colors of the leaves surrounding the campus buildings paint an amazing palette worth experiencing.

Rhodes College
in Memphis also made the list, at number 6. Founded in 1848, Rhodes College is a nationally ranked liberal arts and sciences college, one of the few liberal arts colleges in the nation located in an urban setting. Rhodes has approximately 1,900 full-time students.

The Princeton Review’s 50 college rankings cover eight general areas: Academics/Administration, Quality of Life, Politics, Campus Life, Town Life, Extracurricular Activities, and Social Scene. The rankings lists are entirely based on what students attending the schools in our Best Colleges book tell us about their colleges and their experiences at them via the student survey for the annual lists. Each ranking list reports the top 25 colleges (of the 391 in the book) in a specific category based on surveys from 170,000 students.
