Majority of Democrats Prefer Socialism, Poll Shows


The latest polling by Fox News shows a trend that is becoming more popular among democrats, Socialism.

While most Americans (61%) oppose socialism, a majority of Democrats support it.

The poll breakdown of democrats support socialism read like this. “Very liberal voters and Democrats under age 45, both at 66% are those most likely to think moving to socialism would be good.”

The poll also found that 55% of Democrats, Black voters (55%), and voters under the age of 30 (53%) believe distancing themselves from capitalism is a plus.

Among republican voters, 78% overall said it was a bad idea.

On capitalism, there was an even divide if it worked in the U.S..51% believed it to be doing fine, 49% said it wasn’t working that well.

The poll found that Republican men and MAGA supporters were the top group defending capitalism around 85-87%.

But most liberal voters (79%), Democratic females (79%), and Democrats under age 45 (72%) gave capitalism a thumbs down.

Lat year, Politico reported that 74% of likely Democratic voters said democratic socialism comes closest to their viewpoint But a plurality of independent voters and a most GOP voters surveyed said they prefer capitalism.

Also in 2025, the Associated Press ran a story of a Gallup survey that found most U.S. adults overall are more likely to have a positive view of capitalism than socialism. But then again, that view not held by Democrats.

The survey said that only 42% of Democrats view capitalism favorably, while 66% have a positive view of socialism.
