The city of Lebanon, Tennessee, is known as the town where Cracker Barrel launched, but it will soon be known for its medical facilities, as well. Vanderbilt University is partnering with Encompass Health to build a rehabilitation hospital in Lebanon’s mixed-use community of Barton Village.
According to a press release from Vanderbilt and Encompass, the freestanding hospital, slated to open in 2028, will have 40 inpatient beds in private rooms. Facilities and amenities will include a spacious therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, an in-house dialysis suite, a dining room, a pharmacy, and a therapy courtyard.
“As the number of patients we treat continues to rise, including those who need recovery from severe trauma, organ transplantation, stroke and other conditions, additional beds are required to help meet this goal,” said Jane Freedman, MD, Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. “Collaborating with Encompass Health on this new facility allows us to serve the needs of these individuals in a state-of-the-art setting staffed by world-class physicians, nurses, therapists and staff.”
