Conservative Republican Tennessee State Representative Todd Warner has officially announced his campaign for the United States Congress in Tennessee’s newly redrawn 9th Congressional District. Warner made the announcement Monday.
A farmer, small business owner, eighth-generation Tennessean, and unapologetic conservative, Warner is entering the race as a proven fighter who has never been afraid to stand against the political machine.
“I’m not a politician picked by insiders, consultants, and lobbyists. I’m a Tennessee fighter who will never back down, never surrender, and never apologize for putting Tennessee values first. The swamp can keep their endorsements. I’m running for the people who feel like nobody in Washington fights for them anymore,” Warner said in announcing his candidacy.
Warner first won office by defeating an establishment-backed incumbent and has built a statewide reputation for challenging both Democrats and weak Republicans when he believes ordinary Tennesseans are being ignored by those in power.
“This district was built by family farms, blue-collar workers, small businesses, and proud Tennessee communities that have spent far too long being ignored by the people in power,” he pointed out. “This district deserves someone who actually knows these communities, understands the values and way of life that make Tennessee strong, and will fight for them instead of worrying about climbing the political ladder.”
Warner vowed to bring an aggressive, grassroots America First campaign to the district.
“President Trump showed us what real leadership looks like. Tennessee doesn’t need another polished politician reading from consultant talking points. We need a fighter who will secure the border, defend our God-given rights, cut wasteful spending, protect our rural way of life, and put Tennessee families
first,” Warner stated.
The campaign will immediately launch a district-wide grassroots tour with town halls, local events, and direct voter outreach across Middle and West Tennessee as Warner takes his campaign directly to the people.
“They can keep their Washington consultants and their insider games. I’ll take the support of the everyday Tennesseans and patriots who love this state. That’s the only endorsement I need. This fight starts now.”
State Senator Brent Taylor and perennial candidate Charlotte Bergmann, both of Memphis, have also announced plans to seek the seat in the Republican primary in August.
