North Carolina’s Democrat Governor Josh Stein has issued an order to honor feminist and pro abortion advocate Gloria Steinem, who passed away this week at age 92 in New York City, by flying flags at half mast in the state.
Interesting. Was she born in the state you might ask? No, she was born in Toledo, Ohio. Oh, but she went to college in North Carolina, right? Nope, Smith College in Massachusetts. Well, certainly she had close ties in North Carolina as a longtime resident. No, lived and died in Manhattan, in New York City.
This is merely sick and sad political showmanship by the woke Democrat Governor.
Compare it to the universal and sincere outpouring of grief for the passing of the uplifting and unerringly positive Dolly Parton. A legacy of love, understanding, outreach and generosity that is truly unparalleled. No one can ever question the tributes to Dolly in the U.S. and internationally, because her connections were real, deep, personal and intensely meaningful. Steinem and North Carolina? Not a real connection.
