Williamson County Commissioner Mary Smith received the most votes in a Williamson County Mayoral Straw Poll conducted during the Williamson County Republican Party’s annual Reagan Day Gala on Friday evening.
In the informal poll of event attendees, Smith received 174 votes, narrowly edging out opponent Andy Marshall, who received 170 votes.
More than 600 guests attended the Reagan Day Gala, one of the largest annual gatherings of Republican voters and community leaders in Williamson County.
Smith said she was grateful to those who attended the event and participated in the poll.
“I’m thankful to everyone who took the time to attend the Reagan Day Gala and take part in the straw poll,” Smith said. “Standing in line and participating in the process reflects the kind of civic engagement that makes Williamson County such a strong community.”
Smith noted that while the result is encouraging, the campaign remains focused on listening to voters ahead of the May election.
“A straw poll is simply a snapshot in time,” Smith said. “The real decision will be made by Williamson County voters on May 5, and I look forward to continuing to meet with residents across the county to hear their priorities and talk about the future of our community.”
Smith currently serves as the Williamson County Commissioner for District 5. Her campaign for mayor has focused on responsible growth, fiscal stewardship and protecting the character of Williamson County communities.
“Our county’s success has always been built on thoughtful leadership, careful planning and a commitment to the people who call Williamson County home,” Smith said. “I’m committed to keeping the charm of Williamson County without selling the farm.”
The Williamson County Mayoral Primary eElection will be held May 5, 2026.
