East Tennessee State Rep. Monty Fritts Endorses Jody Barrett in 7th Congressional District Special Election

Conservative leader and Kingston State Representative Monty Fritts is backing Jody Barrett for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, pointing to  Barrett’s commitment to Tennessee values, constitutional principles, and willingness to stand up for what’s right, even when it’s not popular.

“Jody Barrett is a Tennessean with Tennessee values. He’s a constitutionalist and a small-government conservative who will defend the freedoms Tennesseans hold dear no matter what,” said Rep. Fritts.

Rep. Fritts went on to praise Barrett’s record in Nashville, noting his strong conservative voting record and his willingness to stand firm when others cave.

“Jody has proven he’ll stand up for you, even when it isn’t popular in Nashville, and I’m certain he’ll do that in D.C.,” Fritts said. “There’s a little bit of what people like most about President Trump in Jody Barrett. He’ll go after Democrats for their foolish, anti-American ideas, and he’ll also stand up to Republicans when they go along to get along.

Barrett pointed to Monty Fritts’ record as a conservative leader and expressed his gratitude for his support.

“Monty Fritts is a trusted conservative leader in East Tennessee, and I respect him greatly. I am grateful for his support,” said Barrett. “I’m running because we need unapologetic pro-Trump leadership in D.C. that will stand up to the establishment insiders and D.C. Swamp that is trying to steal this seat. This is the people’s seat, and I intend to keep it that way.”

Jody Barrett is campaigning as one of Tennessee’s most conservative State Representatives and a lifelong Tennessean. The Primary election date is October 7 with the general election on December 2. Barrett is one of 11 Republicans seeking the seat.
