Early Voting Totals Through the Weekend in 7th District Special Election

Early voting in the seventh congressional district special election to fill the seat vacated by former Congressman Mark Green continued over the weekend. Voting slowed dramatically in the Republican primary on Saturday, with only 451 votes cast, bringing the total GOP primary vote to 4,349 thus far. 

Democrats also saw their votes slow on Saturday as only 579 were tallied, making the total cast in the Democratic primary so far 3,675. 

The primary election date is Oct. 7, with the General Election on Dec. 2. The winner will likely be sworn in as early as Dec. 3.
