On Tuesday, business executive Todd Kaestner announced he will no longer be on the ballot as a candidate for Williamson County mayor in May. Kaestner had announced his candidacy last September.
“After consulting with my team and family, I have decided to withdraw from the race and will be focusing on other opportunities and our growing family,” Kaestner said through an email alert Monday afternoon. “To my supporters, thank you for placing your time, energy and financial resources behind our campaign to protect and preserve Williamson County while ensuring all who call it home can prosper.
“Your support has meant so much to me, and I will never forget it. We will be issuing a refund to all who donated by the end of the month. Regardless of whether or not I am a candidate, I still firmly believe Williamson County’s best days are ahead.”
Top tier candidates remaining active in the race include businessman Andy Marshall and County Commissioner Mary Smith.
Former State Representative Brandon Ogles also previously announced his candidacy.
