You might have thought the University of Tennessee had avoided having any of their staff or professors post the kind of disgusting, vile, hateful words directed at Charlie Kirk in the wake of his assassination that we’ve seen from other college campuses. But in the words of Lee Corso: “not so fast, my friend!”
Up pops professor of queer anthropology, Tamar Shirinian, with her own social media post sharing her disgusting take on not only Kirk but also his devastated widow and mother of his children!
“The world is better off without him in it. Even those who are claiming to be sad for his wife and kids….like, his kids are better off living in a world without a disgusting psychopath like him and his wife, well, she’s a sick fuck for marrying him so I don’t care about her feelings.”
Not only should she be fired immediately, but everyone in the line that hired her should also be removed from employment at the University of Tennessee. Our taxpayer dollars are actually funding the teaching of queer anthropology? And are the students that pursue that course of study repaying their student loans after they can’t get a job based upon that specialty, or are we being stuck with that bill too?
Based upon the rapid response that other universities across Tennessee have shown in the last few days when confronted with similar outrageous posts by those they have employed and placed in classrooms in the Volunteer State, the likelihood that Ms. Shirinian will be cleaning out her desk by morning is pretty high. But the questions remain: who hired her; who thought this was a valid course of study to offer; isn’t it time to review all of the course offerings at the various campuses of the university of Tennessee system? The problem’s at the University of Tennessee clearly run much deeper than a missed field goal in the waning seconds against Georgia. Coach Heupel will quickly address that and deficiencies on defense that were exacerbated by injuries. But legislative leaders and every candidate for Governor need to immediately demand a complete and thorough review of what exact subjects are being offered in classrooms that are antithetical to the values and culture of our state. After all, The “Pride” of the Southland Band has no connection to queer studies and neither should the university itself.
