Trump Pardons former Tennesssee House Speaker Glen Casada, and His Chief of Staff, After Corruption Convictions

President Donald Trump pardoned the former Tennessee State House Speaker Glen Casada and one of his co-conspirators, Cade Cothren, after their corruption convictions and sentencing.

The former speaker was sentenced in September to 36 months in federal prison on wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, using fake names to carry out a fraud and money laundering charges earlier. 

Casada’s Chief of Staff, Cothren, was sentenced to 30 months. 

There has been no announcement concerning whether the third convicted conspirator, Robin Smith, has been pardoned as well.
