Smith County Reagan Dinner Featured Knoxville Congressman Tim Burchett

Smith County Republicans celebrated the legacy of President Ronald Reagan with a huge Reagan Dinner on Friday night. Congressman Tim Burchett, (R-Knoxville), was the keynote speaker.

With more than 230 guests packed into the AG Center, the event featured great energy, particularly with the upcoming open 6th District Congressional race in 2026, as well as a statewide Governor’s race, which added to the excitement level. The current congressman, John Rose, is running for Governor in the Republican primary that will take place next August. Tennessee Governor  Bill Lee is term limited and unable to seek additional time in office. Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn is expected to enter the race as well.

Representative  Johnny Garrett from Sumner County, State Senator Mae Beavers, and former Congressman Van Hilleary, both of whom are seeking the congressional seat being vacated by John Rose were also in attendance and working the crowd.
