Nashville Police Arrest Suspect in Murder of Woman Found in Trashbag

Fox 17 Nashville reports that the man accused of murdering a woman whose body was discovered by a dog walker last weekend has been arrested and charged.
Authorities arrested Juan Ramirez Lopez-Navarro, 50, for the death of Samia Magzaoui, 34, Metro Police report. Her body was found in garbage bag on Knight Valley Drive near Harding Place, not far from Nashville International Airport. Police say the woman’s body was bound by rope and duct tape and was found by a dog walker just off the side of the road.
An autopsy revealed that Magzaoui died from blunt force trauma and severe lacerations. Metro Police report the two individuals were in a “dating relationship.” Magzaoui is reportedly a Kurdish refugee.
Detectives used cell phone data and video surveillance which led to Lopez-Navarro’s arrest. Police confirmed that he is from Mexico and that his immigration status is unknown at this point. There are unconfirmed reports that he was captured near the Mexican border.
