IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE! Robbery Victim Attacked by Suspect in Gorilla Suit in Nashville

Two people were arrested early Sunday morning in downtown Nashville after a man was attacked by someone in a gorilla suit. 

The assault happened at 2nd Ave. North and Broadway on Sunday around 4:45 a.m. 

The victim told officers he was attacked by a man in a gorilla suit and another man wearing a Hawaiian shirt. According to court documents, the victim was kicked, punched and put in a headlock before his shoes were stolen.

While officers were assisting the victim, other officers spotted someone in a gorilla suit and a man in a Hawaiian shirt crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Officers were able to apprehend  them and take them into custody.

The man in the gorilla suit has been identified as 18-year old Xavier Rhodes. He was charged with felony robbery and released on a $14,000 bond. The suspect in the Hawaiian shirt was identified as 22-year-old Sherrod Robinson, who remains jailed on a $15,000 bond for felony robbery.
