House Freedom Fund Endorses Jody Barrett In 7th District Special Election

The House Freedom Fund has endorsed Republican Jody Barrett for Congress in Tennessee’s 7th CD special election set to take place on October 7. The seat has opened due to the retirement of former Freedom Caucus member, Rep. Mark Green, who left Congress on July 20.

Jody Barrett is the first elected official in Tennessee history to earn a perfect 100% conservative voting record rating from the Tennessee Legislative Report Card, and is endorsed by President Trump’s most vocal supporter in the State of Tennessee, country music star, John Rich.

John Rich had this to say about Jody Barrett:

“I’ll support Jody with everything I have.  I’ve known Jody since I was 17, and he’s ALWAYS been America first, and a fierce fighter for freedom.  This is the kind of man we need in Congress.”

In HFF’s sit down interview with Jody Barrett, he made it clear that he has ZERO desire to be a career politician.

In fact, Barrett spent the last 25 years in his hometown of Dickson, Tennessee, 40 miles west of Nashville, running a small business, and raising his family.  He’s also an avid golfer, and in 2020, joined the “Amateur Players Tour” in an executive leadership role.

Barrett told HFF:

“I know what’s at stake, our families, our future, our way of life.  I’m running for Congress to stand with President Trump and to put Tennessee and America First.”

Jody Barrett is a relentless advocate for conservative values.

In the Tennessee Legislature, he proved it every single day:

*** Championed legislation to defend life and protect Second Amendment rights

*** Led efforts to end sanctuary policies and deport illegal immigrant criminals

*** Opposed unconstitutional COVID mandates and fought for individual freedom

*** Called out government waste and stood firm against woke ideology and government overreach

*** Backed President Trump and fought the swamp

*** Authored and passed Tennessee’s Anti-Red Flag law to protect gun owners from unconstitutional government overreach

*** Was one of only four Republicans who voted to shut down Governor Lee’s special session on red flag laws before it even started.

The HFF is affiliated with the House Freedom Caucus, whose members in the Tennessee Congressional Delegation include Reps. Andy Ogles, Scott Desjarlais and Diana Harshbarger.
