Former GOP State Representative Robin Smith Re-Sentenced to Probation Rather than Prison

Former Chattanooga-area lawmaker Robin Smith will not serve the eight-month prison term she was scheduled to begin on Monday.

Smith’s attorney confirmed the update Monday afternoon, saying she has been re-sentenced to one year of probation. She will not serve any jail time. However, her felony conviction remains in place. 

Her co-conspirators, former House Speaker Glen Casada and his chief of staff Cade Cothren, were pardoned by President Donald Trump last year
