Nashville will be the site of auditions for the upcoming season of ‘American Idol,’ which airs on ABC stations across Tennessee.
The popular singing competition show will film auditions for its 24th season at Belmont University in Music City, according to a press release from Belmont. Students will also be invited to sit in the audience for some tapings.
A spokesperson for the university said that the filming dates will be announced at a later date.
The show is also offering students and graduates of Belmont an exclusive virtual audition day on September 23. Virtual auditions are held with show producers live on Zoom, the American Idol website says.
Tennessee country music stars Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan are judges on this season of the show, along with funk legend Lionel Richie. Season 24 is set to air in the spring.
Multiple Belmont alumni have competed to become the next American Idol. According to the university, season 17 contestant Walker Burroughs is an alum, as well as season 6 finalist Melinda Doolittle and season 2 finalist Kimberly Locke.
